Three future shows...?

Awakening

Stage 2 of Pandaemonium

Or should we let sleeping giants lie?

A landscape performance: a simple, strong and direct show that awakens and animates a giant sleeping beneath the earth.

“The giant emerges. It opens its mouth and sings, summoning a series of ‘elemental' figures each accompanied by a special band, mobile images and procession. Towering above the audience its body comes to life, doors open, carousels and solar systems spin and whir. The elemental figures dance. The Giants internal worlds debate and argue, go out of control, fireworks animate the body. It is left smoking, then right at the end a bird emerges and flies away.”

Carnival of Souls

Stage 3 of Pandaemonium

A ‘circus' troupe of ‘outsider' characters and creatures comes to life, lead by a giant figure and formed from fragments of a British dreamtime: its demons and agitators, radicals and discarded.

A giant pounds on the tops of gas towers, drumming up a Carnival of Souls,. The show summons a world of forgotten experiments, of a modern dream time full of robotic half gods, rusting iron birds and the off spring of redundant computer programmes and games, and of golems, guisers and Halloween revellers who could never get their costumes off. The troupe process into town…

The Golem

The entire show is a labyrinth to wander through; a series of installations & environments, followed by an evening performance, based on the mythology of the Golem.

The audience wander through a Hall of Portents, create their own Golem in an alchemical laboratory, hear about the Feats of the Golems and witness their Fall. Finally, in the evening we discover the Last of the Golems, and have to decide whether to destroy it or let it go…

The show combines music, film & animation, performance, workshops, food, sculpture and fire in an alchemical blend of cautionary tale and Promethean desire.
