The Babylon Gamelan is a mechanical sound sculpture modelled on the Tower of Babel.
The Babylon Gamelan is:
- A delightful Confusion of Random Engineering and Rough Music
- A Mechanical Ensemble of Percussive Discombobulation
- An Apocalyptic Orchestra of animated Detritus
- A Sonic Amusement and Junkyard Delirium
- A Tower of Joyful Noise
Currently in development, the Babylon Gamelan is an installation piece with soundmaking elements triggered by audience interaction and is also a playable instrument for collaboration with musicians, composers, improvisers and sound artists.
